Book Project

These are the photos of my book project. This project was a lot of fun. It was a bit difficult to size the paper correctly for me as the cover has to wrap around all the inside pages and my paper was heavyweight Epson Matte 48 lb Brochure & Flyer Paper

This is my final picture for the Photoshop assignment . I think this project was fun. I took a lot my own pictures from different places and put them together. The mosaics I took at the Getty Museum in Malibu. I have over 26 layers and most pictures I took myself except two which i got off Google, they were the red coral and an underwater type picture behind the gate.

This is my Jellyfish House without the jellyfish. I used a lot of different pics I took all over the area and put them together

Photoshop Exercise 1Sketches

In this sketch I made the jellyfish the house with a door and behind the jelly is a stained glass window  There are blown glass jellyfish shapes as flowers on the side of the house. This house is underwater with seaweed all around it also. I plan on distorting the windows and doors . There will be lots of colors

With this sketch I will make the seaweed the home and also I added a house and stairways . There are also mosaic tiles throughout the pic

This is my Out Of Water sketch where the Jellyfish turns into an island out of water but under the water it is a little house with spiral stone mazelike patios made out of pictures I took up at the neighborhood Church in PV

These are my sketches for my surrealistic home for my jellyfish. I am still working on them They will be very colorful and detailed. I took many pictures of different homes and places and put it together.

Here I used the feather tool and the eraser tool. I'm still practicing.

Statement Of Intent

My logo represents Jellyfish Surf Company which sells products used by anyone, such as beach type items like sandals called "Fish-Flop Jellies" with a slogan like" The only jelly between your toes" and the logo will be on all the products. We will also sell snorkeling equipment, wearing apparel and items for younger children like glow in the dark Bubbles and neon glow in the dark jewelry. With every purchase we will give a small box of Jellyfish shaped gummy candy  in different neon colors.

I researched my logo on Google under best logos and jellyfish logos and logos jellyfish.

Assignment 2

My Original Photo and my digital creation in Illustrator

2nd Assignment - Invertebrates- Bugs

For this assignment,  I found info in the following books: OCEAN- the World's Last Wilderness Revealed by      Fabien Cousteau  & OCEAN WORLD By Sally Morgan I took a couple pictures from these books and the rest I took myself at the Long Beach Aquarium of the Pacific  and the Monterey Bay Aquarium.

The top left collage is the first collage I did.  I scanned it and  resized it and just took a portion of it in PS to make it the correct size according to the directions and that is banner on the bottom.The digital replication copy I did in Illustrator  is the one on top of  it.  I was really confused as I have never used PS or AI before and all the tools are new to me so I kept using the wrong one and something went wrong then I finally went to the lab and took my time and had some help from Linley and finally got the hang of it. Hopefully I can remember everything for the next project. It was confusing but fun!

Jellyfish

May be same species as the Upside-down  Jellyfish and is found in the Pacific & Indian Oceans

This beautiful jellyfish is called the "Mauve Stinger"  It is found in the Indian, Meditteranean, Northeastern Atlantic & Pacific Oceans.  It glows by producing bioluminescent lights

Jellyfish are really invertebrates and not fish.  Their bodies resemble jelly. Some Jellyfish can be very large where their bell shaped body will reach about three feet and their tentacles can be quite a few feet long.

Upside-down Jellyfish found in the Gulf of Mexico & Caribbean

Jellyfish are related to sea anemones and corals and there are about 200 species or more of jellyfish .

Box Jellyfish are found in tropical waters like the South Pacific and within a few minutes they can kill a person with  just one sting.   One of the only creatures not affected by its sting is the sea turtle who sometimes eats them

I am taking this class because it will enable me to be more efficient in working with Illustrator and Photoshop. This is great because I love photography and art and do not know that much about digital art and how to use this media too well.  This is the first time I've made a blog. The first assignment was confusing at first as I did not have the syllabus printed out. After printing it out and reading it I realized I made my project images the wrong size. I am going to redo the project although I do like it after all.
