  1. With this Image i used Curlz type. I put bubbles on it so I could use this for my surf shop bubbles or children's items.

  2. Looks really good, I like the 3-d effect it gives.

  3. Marilou - you can edit your blogs by going back into the post and clicking edit - that would really connect the statement to the image, rather than having it in your comment box. Please try and do this

  4. Marilou, you work really hard and it pays off, congratulations!

Image: This is starting to work and has sooo much potential– you just need to really get things spatially correct – that is your negative space needs to read as well as your positive space. There could even be a gradient on the line background. Then you have to work on the inside line thickness and their shapes. What is the point of the red line inside and why the flat blue line outside? Soft and hazy?
Image and Word: The use of gradient is working well in the tentacles, they give a sense of volume and movement, but on the top is a little flat where the highlight is– perhaps adding a bit of color to the blue – just one more color, a red or purple might flush out the top. The text is essentially good but the y spacing needs to be worked on. Perhaps the bottom of the “y” curl could b be tucked above the “l”. Therefore opening up the space between the words, which gives us a bit of a breather. I and also of the feeling the dots on top of the “I” need to be going in the other directions and perhaps a different color – think playful. This has truly come a long way!
Letter: I think you have moved things around to create a symbolic representation with the letters, now we have to work on the spacing. I would like the “S” and “J” shape to be better integrated – the negative space needs to really work as well as the positive – that is the area between the lines. They could really be weaving through each other especially with 2 contrasting colors. The color is problematic because they are all the same value and so makes everything look flat. – perhaps even go to a color swatch website to choose some playful and surfer colors, to add to the visual message.
Word: This is a very playful use of the typeface – you have changed the line on top so that it does not interfere, congratulations. The top line does imply the top of a jelly fish and adds to the simplicity of the design
